Study at Bachelor of Applied English SV UGM, Is It “Worth It”?

Have you ever heard about Public Relations? Public Relations (PR) can be defined as a strategy done by a company or organization to interact with its public with the aim to create public opinion, to build understanding, to give perceptions, to motivate and to create public participation. The existence of PR in a company or organization is important because it has a big role to help the company or organization in managing crises and helping them in making decisions.

Now, PR has become the focus of study at the Bachelor of Applied English Sekolah Vokasi UGM (SV UGM). The main skill taught is English as a foundation in the PR world. As we know, English is the international language and it has a big role in the PR world because it helps us to communicate internationally.

At the Bachelor of Applied English SV UGM, the curriculum about English grammar is taught from the 1st semester until 4th semester to sharpen the students’ English-grammar skill. Besides English-grammar, the students are also taught to speak in English to train their English-speaking skill. English-speaking skill is important in the PR world because PR activity might not only be done in Indonesia but also internationally. In addition, the Bachelor of Applied English SV UGM also gives the student a chance to learn the other languages such as Korean, Japanese, French and Mandarin.

Not only language as the foundation of PR skill, but Bachelor of Applied English also gives the students a chance to learn the other subjects that are very related to PR, one of them is Digital Public Relations. In this subject the students are taught about how to create digital PR strategy as well as how to execute the strategy. In addition, all of the materials are taught by the lecturers that are qualified and expert in the subjects to ensure the credibility of the knowledge that will be delivered to the students.

Studying at the Bachelor of Applied English will give you more benefits than what mentioned above. Bachelor of Applied English SV UGM comes with a curriculum that guides students to be ready to work especially in the PR field. By focusing on the PR field, Bachelor of Applied English SV UGM is ready to create a generation that can adapt with this dynamic world.
