On 1-2 November 2019, the English Study Program conducts the Night of Familiarity or called “Makrab” which is followed by the generation of 2017 and 2018. Finally, the days and moments that are eagerly awaited by friends of the English study program have been passed with a cheerful, fun and certainly very exciting. This event aims to get to know each other and generations, to be more solid, and able to create friendships much better. In addition to refreshing, this event also aims to get to know and further understand the character of each person
It was held at Villa Abmarina, Yogyakarta. There were many activities that are certainly exciting and have been prepared in such a way by the committee. There were also various kinds of performance. So, each group must perform a song or it could be a duet between generations. So they were free to show what they want. Then at night, there was a barbecue party, including grilling sausages, corn, tempura, etc. But the activities weren’t going to end there, they continued the next morning with a gathering at the front yard of the villa. Everyone is excited and very enthusiastic.
Ms. Andri Handayani, one of our beloved lecturers, was also attended the event as a representative of the English study program. She delivered her speech to all members who participated in the activity that night. She talked about intimacy, friendship, and the environment. Not only that, but there were also speeches from the chairman of the activity which was conveyed by Raffi from the generation of 2017 and the leader of Himavi (English Study Program’s Student Association), Lintang.
Basically, the event carried out briefly and contain togetherness are expected to increase strong brotherhood among fellow generations and increase empathy or caring for others so that they become a unified whole, progressing together and complementing one another for the purpose of togetherness.
