Andrea Follows Student Exchange at Changwon National University Korea for 3 Weeks

Yogyakarta (28/7) – Andrea Timuriana Putri Suci Domargo, who is usually called Deya, an English Student of the Vocational School of Universitas Gadjah Mada, followed a student exchange at Changwon National University in Korea on July 9-27 2019. Since Changwon National University only invited two students from the UGM Vocational College to participate in the Summer Camp program. Then, Deya was chosen to join this program.

The objectives of this Summer Camp is to provide all students from several countries a new learning experience in Korea. Students can build international relationships and friendships which will benefit them in the future. Deya added, the experience gained was extraordinary, she met new friends, new foreign cultures and of course learned a new language that was different from Indonesia. “They are very kind, friendly and willing to teach me culture in Korea. Then we exchange cultures with each other,” said Deya.

There are several requirements for student exchange in the Summer Camp program implemented by Changwon National University including:

  1. Active students of Vocational College Universitas Gadjah Mada
  2. Good in academic and active in campus activities
  3. Good communication skills in English
  4. Curriculum Vitae in English
  5. Copy of Academic Transcript
  6. Copy of passport
  7. Motivation Letter
  8. Copy of TOEFL Certificate, minimum score ITP >500

Other additional information includes:

  1. Students are only responsible for flight tickets and pocket money because the program costs are handled by Changwon National University.
  2. Students are given several activities while in Changwon, including; Korean language classes, cultural activities, field trips, and team projects.

Deya stated, “The experience that I had was truly unpaid, very happy to be able to visit this country with its unique and different culture from Indonesia. I hope one day I can visit Korea again.”
